I know someone who has a daughter who is 4 and a half. She stopped believing in Santa and alot of fairy tales. Do you think my friend should convince her daughter that stuff is real or leave it go?

I see nothing wrong with it. I stopped believing around 4 or 5 as well. When she tells other people, they think she should force it.

Let it go. what is the point of believing it in the first place? It doesn't make things better.

No she shouldn't tell her it's real, no matter how you turn it, telling someone Santa clause exists is lying. And there comes a day you have to tell the truth. I know I felt like a total fool when my parents told me that Sinterklaas(a Dutch Santa Clause) wasn't real. And I really blamed them for lying about this all these years. You can have a good time during Christmas without believing a strange fat man with a beard and a red suit comes into your house bringing presents. You can always stick to giving presents, can you.

Hmm. I say let it go. There's a point in our lives that we stop believing in the Easter Bunny, Santa and the tooth fairy. It may be when we're teenagers, or for your friend's daughter, at an earlier age. We all know it's not real unless we believe it in ourselves, like in God.

definitely let it go. will it make a difference if she believes in santa or not? your friend shouldnt make an effort to make her daughter believe in fairy tales, but if theres an opportunity she could give it a shot if she wants

I wouldn't try and make the 4 year old believe in Santa. I think it's good that she knows the truth. When she's older she won't feel like she was lied to.

Leave it alone. It's wrong that she found out at this young of an age that santa, etc..aren't real. (Usually they shouldn't find out until about age 6 or 7)

She should leave it like it is. There's no need to lie to the child. I never believed in any of that stuff and I still enjoyed the holidays and so forth.

Let it go. Trying to convince her will later come across to her as lying.

Why would you want to lie to a child? It;s all a game, it is just pretend, enjoy it but don't lie about it.
