Alright I'm a 14 and I was just wondering what a fast 40 yard time for my age group would be.

age 14, 6'2, 175 lbs, play QB and Safety but want to be as fast as the WRs and CBs because I have to run the ball a lot and I have to cover the WRs.

I play with kids 1-4 years older than me so I am at a little disadvantage on development.

College and pros can break 5 seconds.

at 14 I'd relax...break 6 and you're golden as a QB.

Quarterbacks don't have to be as fast as they are confident and 'football smart".

I do 11-12 second 100 yard dash and I'm 15 so ur around 12-14 (for 100 yards) I dont know about 40 yards

Just keep working hard and doing your best. If your 40 time is not good enough at the position that you are seeking , I am sure that your coach will see that you are determined and will put you at the position that is suited for you...At 14 years of age, I suggest that you just have fun playing football

4.6 is flat out good.... but remember...don't get caught up in 40 times...when on a football field is someone going to run a straight line. Even a wide receiver on a vertical route has to get by the DB. Don't forget about quick feet as they will take you along way on a football field. But if you are 15 and run a 4.6 pretty dang good.

What position? Generally speaking anything under 5 seconds would be good for your age.

Well....if you are in football with pads on or just doing sprints? If u have pads on doing the 40 anytime from 5.25-5.50 is really good but without pads from 4.80-5.00 is awesome too.....Depending on ur weight ,size, etc. u can increase ur speed by diong resistance trianing and also stairs.....truly fast speeds would be in 4.50-4.60 times respectfully!!

7-11 is healthy for your age. geez if you want to run fast just build up your quads or take the juice. jk
