My 17 year old son has always been a quiet one. But the last year he has been keeping to his self more and more. He's lost 30 lbs in the past year. I toke him to the doctor about 3 monthes ago and they did all kinds of tests (even a rendom drug test) and nothing was found. I try to talk to him and he swears that nothing is wronge. He is a good boy. I have never had any problems from him ( just the run of the mill ones). I would just like to know some signs to look for and some good questions to ask. he gets angry when I mention a councelor

Your job is to protect him. Even if he doesn't see the need for the protection. Google "depression" or "teen depression." There will be all sorts of sites with information. Read and heed.

At his age, would he be willing to go to see a doc? I would suggest you speak to your doc and see if he/she has any suggestions for you! At his age he may not even realize there is a problem per se!
