There both four letter words in my book, but look at it this way. If you built a fire next to an icicle, the ice would surely melt away in to water and dissipate into the air. If hate were the icicle, love were the fire, and the flame was hot enough to even be an emotion, than love would definitely overcome the hate, if they were both directed at the same being or object of affection. So in my opinion love and hate may exist at the same time, but only for a brief moment while the two battle it out, whichever is truly real will definitely stand strong...

I think so. i don't see hate as being the opposite of love.
Hate comes and goes and i can hate someone one day but still be loving them. Both emotions are very passionate. I guess it depends on your definition of hate
n if it is acted on. I would never act on it cuz even when hate is present love is the undercurrent there.
I see indifference as the opposite of love.

I think you can hate somone, yet love them at the same time. Its like you really hate a person for what they have done to you, but deep down inside you still have love for the person for numerous reasons such as so much history together.

No. You may feel extremely angry towards them at times but if you truly love them you would not feel hatred towards them.
I think what happens is that when we love we open up ourselves emotionally and become very vulnerable. When someone hurts us, it really hurts and that resentment may feel as though we hate them or maybe even open the door to hatred but if you truly hate them you no longer love them. Those love/hate relationships you hear about are not really love.

Maybe. Look at a lot of married people. Guess they feel a moral obligation to have sex after marriage, only to have relationships outside of the marriage. Guess they have another name for this, but, I would assume it Hate, if, they having sex with someone else when they married.

Of course. They derive from each other . And of course, logic tells me that they can't stay too much , if ever , binded in one place. They merely shift one through another , sometimes rapidly, and
mostly they like to stay appart.
