Girl,,,, you had major surgery! Everyone's skin heals differently. Give it time! It may take awhile. You can buy an over-the-counter cream called Mederma that will help the scar fade more quickly. It is a time consuming process (you have to apply it lots of times during the day) and a bit expensive ($40ish per tube). Don't worry............ so long as you don't feel pain at the area of the scar, nature will take it's course and heal it just fine.

It took me about 14 months for the purple to fade. It's now a pink scar 2-1/2 years later.

You should call your doctor. It could just be some scarring and scabbing, but it should never be purple or black. It should be red and then pink as you heal. Get it checked out. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I had two c-sections, one incision going each way (one was emergency delivery, the other breech presentation). One of the scars is practically invisible--they did a beautiful job closing me up, etc. The other one is thick and raised and still quite visible (its 10 years old).
I guess it just varies depending on the time, the way you were handled, etc. These things do fade with time, for the most part. If you are concerned, of course, talk to your doctor.

There's this stuff it's called medira I believe it's really expensive $25 dollars a tube. But it helps lighten scars to were they are almost invisible or they do go completely away my sister in law was in a horrible car crash that almost killed her and she had to have rods put in legs and screws in her ankles and knees and it seemed to help her out a lot.

because you have a different skin tone. You could try rubbing it with cocoa butter or get vitamin E capsules and open them and rub on the liquid inside.
there is also some stuff you can buy at the drugstore that supposedly makes scars seem less apparent but it is quite expensive.

try that mderma (spelling unsure) cream for scars. they advertise the children's version often. vitamin e works for scars, you open up the caplets and put it on the scar. rubbing on the scar while you apply the cream in a circular motion with help to desensitize it if need be.

I had my baby in March and my doctor glued me back together and my incision is light. Did you get staples? Try getting some MEderma for about 12 bucks...its pretty expensive but works.
