Mine usually survive for close to three years. Part of the problem is that you don't know how old they are when you buy them.

My last Beta lived for one year in a gallon tank. The lady at the petstore told me Betas live longer in a smaller tank. That does'nt make any sense to me though...you?My Mom had hers in a 5 gallon tank and died around the same time as mine so it's hard to tell.Don't ya hate seeing Betas in those tiny cups at the stores? They just sit there on the bottom of the tiny cup with no room to swim or explore a world of decorations.Poor babies! I felt like rescuing them all.

I had 3 awhile ago. Mine used to lay on the bottom once and awhile. Try putting the bowl in front of a mirror, it will stimulate the fish.

Hi; I sell them in my bait shop/ they can live 3to 5 years.Make sure they get fresh water&they need to eat 2 times a day.A good food for them is there pone foods like live ants or blood worms. But if you dont have this fish food for bettas will do fine.Good Luck feeding/and long live the betta.
