Every now and then I will ask a question about relationships or men/women interactions and I get answers that are inconsistent with real world observations. Do you deliberately lie if you are turned off by a question?

That's a great question. This is something that I find very interesting. Depending on how I word a question greatly impacts the answers I get. I can ask exactly the same question two different ways, and get completely different answers.

I think people have an emotional reaction when reading the questions which causes them to ignore anything real world facts, and answer the question completely irrationally.

I think most people know if you are asking a question with sincerity, and true concern for the person. Now, if you are asking people personal questions just trying to make someone uncomfortable,or maybe just being a jerk, then I'd say alot of times you get more than just lies,...you probably get told a few things more personal about yourself ,than about those whom you are asking the questions!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

No, I won't lie. I'll just answer and try to sound as nice as possible without compromising honesty. Sometimes it works and other times I just sound bad. But oh well. Life is not always pretty, and I would rather be honest and sincere than pretty and fake any day.

Your "real world observations" might not represent a broad cross section of society.

Strictly speaking for myself, I will only answer a question that I have either, KNOWLEDGE ,or PASSION of/for.

I believe that is what can make this an excellent venue for the exchange of thought..,wisdom.., TRUTH !

No, I personally don't lie...but some people pose their offensive opinions as questions...there are better ways of getting people to understand you than being a jerk.

I have no trouble accepting truth. But opinions are a completely different matter.
