You think? The only thing Martha Stewart is interested in is Martha Stewart. Her prison record speaks of itself

Cut some slack, will ya? There are SOOOOOO many charities and support groups out there that are asking for, and that sorely need, monetary support. There's only so much money that can go around. Not even the richest person in the world could possibly come up with enough money to give a significant donation to every charitable organization in existance.

Soooo, celebrities generally choose a few charities that are particularly dear to them (usually for personal, sentimental or familial reasons) and donate.

Do you have absolute proof that, in Martha Stewart's entire life, she has never supported/helped out veterans? Unlikely. But even if she hasn't, so what? Does that mean because a celebrity doesn't donate to a cancer fund, they think cancer victims deserve to die? Or that if they don't walk in an AIDS walk-a-thon that they don't believe in AIDS research? I seriously doubt it.

And if we're about casting stones? How many different charities do YOU contribute to? And for all the ones that you DIDN'T mention, does that mean you have a 'better than you' attitude toward them just because you aren't giving them your money? I'm sure that's not your disposition at all... so, again, I'd ask to give a gal a break.

Capitalism doesn't work that way, the rich don't have to help the poor. The richer they get, the lower their tax rates, so they get richer, and they do charity where and when they want to. If you want to live in a place where the rich pay higher taxes, move to a country like Canada, where the more you make, the more the government takes. That makes for better health care, education, and support for veterans.
