I had never seen the whole movie but i just remmember the part when they capture Wallace (Mel Gibson) and they have him on a table there is blood all around him and they have a guy doing somthing to him i dont know what but it seem to me that they were cutting his nuts. Can somebody explain what was going on and why they do this,and did stuff like this really happen in history????? Im confused.

Yes, they were pullin out his intestines.
Yes, they did that. Really.
They called it "purging" and thought it literally cleansed them, or more likely the common people BELIEVED it cleansed in some uneducated, led by "higher ups" kind of way.

The sicko with al the tools was torturing him. It was a bloodthirsty way to kill someone slowly by pulling pieces of them out. Really disgusting. Then the crowed called for mercy and they lopped his head off just as he screamed, "Freedom".

Yes, he was eviscerated. After he died, his head was sent to hang from the walls of the Tower of London. He was quartered and Longshanks had his different body parts taken to different and distant locations so there would never be a grave to serve as a memorial to the Scots.

wallace is being tortured or 'purified' as the english preferred to say, the dude who is ordering everyone else around tells the crowd to hush cos 'the prisoner wishes to say a word' everyone including him expects wallace to say mercy but he cries freedom and they chop his head off! he was being tortured, and hung drawn and quartered i belive is the term and yes these things were actually done in the past and it was usually to make an example of someone or was hoped to be a detterent to their supporters ( i dont think they actually cut his nuts off they may have been disembowelling him) u should watch it its a great movie

Wallace got captured and was prosecuted for treason witch back in the day the penalty was death, he had a choice to repent for a quick death, or to be tourchered befor death and he obviously chose what he believed over the king
