yes and it is getting to the point of downright RUDE! Cell phones can be a great toll, but it is frustrating to have to dodge a wreckless driver on the phone. my daughter's friend comes over and spends 1/2 the time here chatting on her cell phone, just about anywhere you go someone is chatting away on a cell phone with no regard to what is going on around them. I understand needing to make contact for bussiness and emergency but it has gotten to where the cell phone is a convenient distraction from normal socialization and an excuse for neglecting common courtesy and polite behavior.
My mom gets upset because I don't have a cell phone (well, I do but it is for emergency only and I keep it that way, one person has the # and never calls me on it) I tell her I remember growing up with no cell phone, as a matter of fact I remember a time when we did not even have an answering machine! In a lot of cases, a cell phone useage is convenient but certainly not a neccessity

I don't think there is too much use, but more accurately, too much abuse. What annoys me most is the inappropriate use of the cell phone. Talking on the phone and talking with a salesperson or someone like that. Talking loudly in a quiet setting like a restaurant. The worse ones are the bluetooth phones. Someone is walking around talking and you don't see the phone. I think someone is ready for the asylum when I see that.

Good question , I see the bad that you are pointing out , but cell phones have there good side to , like imagine yourself getting into an accident or getting lost and not being able to find no help or a pay phone , this is where a cell phone would come in handy.

yes - i saw a rather dorky guy get asked inside a restaurant by a rather attractive girl - they must've all gone there to meet as a group - dude did not get off his phone and followed her inside yapping away ..... also, a co-worker of mine was in a horrible accient which she only survived by luck - ended upside down in the headwaters of a river - underwater for 8 minutes - the last thing she remembers is answering her cell phone

i don't like ppl tiring to drive and talk on there phone in less they have the hands free one but they still need to make sure they concentrate on the road rather than the call I agree with what my dad always says guns don't kill ppl ppl with cell phones do!and there nothing more annoying than someone tiring to talk to you and on the phone at the same time when you got two conversations going you are missing at least half of both conversations so you are always making some one repeat them selves very rude yes I agree they are important if I am out and my kids need me fast than I am glad I got it with me but if i am driving I stop and call back when I miss a call or if you have car trouble than i is a necessary but yes ppl like some would die if they lose there phone or I mean they would thing they were lost with out it!!!!! crazy!!!!

Yes, they do. Actually, though, there was a survey that found some percentage (I don't remember exactly what) of people using cell hpones in public aren't really talking to anyone, they're just pretending to look busy/important/popular. Weird, huh?

Yes. Especially when they drive. Many states have laws against it now. Remember that football that crashed his car while talking to his wife on his cell. He ended his career too I think with the injuries he got.
