Republicans accuse Dems of cut and run, soft on terrorism, and other hatefull things when it comes to opposing the Iraq occupation.
So just exactly what is the Republican plan, or strategy there?
Come up with good answers, not you usual Rep. talking points, or repeating of O'Reilly, Limbaugh.

Senior citizen....what don't I understand?
I'd like to know what the Republican strategy is to get the troops out, besides soldiers just sitting there waiting to be killed!?
It's gotten to the point where this situation and everything leading up to this moment, is just unbelieveable and a disgrace.

If the "usual Rep. talking points" are off limits, what do you want to hear? The plan is to destroy, utterly and completely any person, movement or ideology that vows to kill all Americans such as the Hezbollah, Al Queda, Hammas and others. We can sit back and do nothing and fight them here on our own soil or we can fight them on their turf. What is so difficult to understand? Our purpose in Iraq is to show Syria, Iran, Lebannon and other Muslim countries that a democratically elected government that represents its people can succeed and prosper better than any oppressive regime. This is why there is so much resistance and so much hatred by those nations. Their leaders are afraid of the power that freedom can give its people.
By cut and run, terrorists would simply be emboldened by our perceived cowardice. They aren't going to sit back in their deserts and be satisfied that they have 'won'. They have vowed our total extinction. They will come to us again and again. We are in world war 3, don't be mistaken about that. We did not start this, but we do have to finish it, Iraq is just a part of it.

Well short term, the plan is to rebuild the governments of the middle east for an amicable trading relationship. There was a bad deal made in that region with people of questionable morals. This time the violence there has gotten so severe that we have to send ground troops and root these people out. Place leadership in power that can help to bridge the gap between that region and the west. Maintain an affordable supply of fossil fuels are traded throughout the world until a changeover to ethanol or another alternative takes place. And allow for this age old battle between Israel and Palestine to go on unabated. The reason this is taking as long as it is is because, as a country, we are dancing down a razors edge. Trying to find a comprimise between key points to keep the peace.

Good question what are their plans? Also have you people started noticing them voting for the thumbs down option to any anti Bush and anti Republican question these days. I guess it's easier just to click than to actually post a reply as many times, I read something someone write in support of Bush and ask what planet is he living in? That or Bush is great and you suck type responses.

It has been repeated so many times by our president, senators, and other representatives that you must have been either living under a rock for the past 6 years, or lying. The strategy in Iraq is currently to train and arm the Democratic Iraqi army to the point were they can effectively protect the Iraqi people, while meantime providing military and political support for the elected goverment of Iraq and protection for the people of Iraq.

A nation, once it enters war, should do so with only one primary "plan"...victory, which is attained when the "enemy" is sufficiently subdued or destroyed...this should be incredibly easy to understand...a football team does not start a game to compromise or loose...a boxer does not enter the ring to drop his hands and get beaten up...a runner does not enter a race to come in second. Many in this country have been raised to avoid conflict or competition...we don't want to stigmatize them with possible lose contest or self-esteem. We've become a nation of wimps...scarey...the bully always beats up on the wimp. STAND UP AND TAKE A STAND, AMERICA!

I'm not a Republican, but I would call your attention to the construction of 14 permanent military bases in Iraq, and an embassy 'the size of Vatican City,' according to some sources.
The plan is, having established a foothold in Iraq, to stay.

Good question. We can look forward to more death and casualties of our good soldiers (men and women) if we stay in Iraq. The Republicans at this point don't have a plan, except to suffer more U.S. deaths and maimings of our good people. Why is everyone so frighted of the "cut-and-run" argument? In war, retreat at times can be the best move. I say it's time we retreated from Iraq.

Well now come on, Bush himself answered this question the other day. Remember, he said that we were going to be in Iraq after he got out of office so it would be up to the next administration to figure out what to do about Iraq. Sounds like he doesn't have a plan either.
