77.712
Move the decimal place on place to the left (a tenth).
Or you can multiply to get the answer.
When multiplying by percents (10%) you have to move the decimal two places to the left.
So you'd multiply 777.12 x .10 = 77.712
To find 10% of 411.67 do the same thing. Move the decimal one tenth, or one place to the left to get 41.167. To multiply and figure it out, it would be
411.67 x .10 = 41.167

First I remembered that "ten percent" means 'one tenth of'. ie., if I want ten percent of a thing, I really want one tenth of it. Do you see? Now you say, " I want one tenth of 777.12" and you know that you must divide 777.12 by ten.
so, 777.12 / 10 = 77.712 Ten percent of 777.12 is 77.712. end of story. A short cut is to learn that by moving the decimal point to the left, you divide ! The rule is, left one decimal point is divide by ten; left two decimal points is divide by 100; left three points is divide by 1000, and so on.
You asked about another number also, four hundred something. Say it was 454.73, Ok? move the decimal point one place left and you have 45.473. 45.473 is ten percent of 454.73. I hope this helps ! Butch
