different pills differ because of the hormones, but my packet said a 1% chance of still getting pregnant. A 3% chance if you are not taking them exactly the way you are supposed to. If you are not missing any pills and taking them at the same time each day, there's still a 1 in 100 chance of you getting pregnant.

Well it depends on the pills and the person, I think that you should wait a little longer than two months while on the pills before you stop using condoms, simply because the pills need to get into the system well, and you need to have a few cycles while on the pill first. I have a patient that has a 2mo old baby and had been on Yasmine for that long, came into the office and found that she is now pregnant again, so just give the pills a little longer to be in your system first. You may have a high risk of still getting pregnant.

read the information packet that should come with your birth control, they don't really announce it but there should be like "rate of efficacy" or something, usually it's like 1 in 100 or something. But remember that's really not that bad of odds, and remember that the pill is less effective if you smoke and if you miss any days or don't take it at the same time every day and preferably in the evening. (and if you take antibiotics the pill doesn't work at all.) I got pregnant on the pill and so have alot of people I know, so just be careful. And maybe consider something more effective like an IUD or using condoms or spermicide (or both) along with the birth control.

sense no one would have a life change except you if you did get pregnant, I would not take any chances. while being on the pill if you miss a day or take at a different time you increase the chances from( 99.1 to less effectiveness ). It may be inconvenient for you right now , but timing your children is the of more importance. Safe than truly sorry, from someone that got pregnant who was on the pill for 3 months. good luck, but be smart.

You can still get pregnant while on the pill. I did. Turned out that some women are more fertile than others - and need a higher prescription.
Even normal women can get pregnant on the pill, if they've missed a day, don't take it at the same time every day, or if they've had antibiotics. Also, women who smoke have a significant chance of developing breast cancer, before they turn 30.

like some of the previous answers 1%....but I had been on the pill for years I got pregnant three times....(two miscarriages) one "Miracle baby!!" after being told I couldn't even have kids....sorry rabbling I know!! :)
Anyway~the times I got pregnant were
once when my real dad died...the STRESS OF THE DEATH MADE MY PILLS NOT WORK. Sounds wierd...but that is what the doctor said. Stress messed me up and I got pregnant.
The other time I forgot to take it..doubled up the next day at the usual time (like I had done before withOUT getting pregnant) and was following "Doctor's suggestions"...yet that time I got pregnant.
THE LAST ONE..."THE MIRACLE BABY" MY GRANDMA ON HER DEATH BED (WHOM I WAS CLOSE TOO) SAID SHE WANTED TO SEE THE NEW BABY...AND BAM..............
WE HAD A ~BABY GIRL~ ALMOST 9 1/2 MONTHS LATER!
***I now have a baby boy too!!!***
MY suggestion honey...if you and him are NOT ready....wear a condom, pull out, KEEP TAKING THE PILL CORRECTLY ~ BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO FALL IN THE 1 % catergory.....
**ALSO ANTIBIOTICS WILL MESS WITH THE BIRTH CONTROL AS WELL...I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE GOTTEN PREGNANT WHILE ON THE PILL...BUT TAKING ANTIBIOTICS.***

Well, I got pregnant with my oldest son, using the pill. My oldest twin daughters were conceived using "foam". But all this took place, 26 years ago. Surely, the pill is more effective now than it was then. I don't even know if they even have the "foam" on the market anymore, lol..... Good luck to you and your boyfriend. Always, use protection of some kind if you don't want to become pregnant.

it is a possibility the only way to be absolutky sure you will not get pregnant is by not having sex. If you are remmebering everyday though to take your pill it is less than 5% chance of conception.

1%, pill covers 99% only. If you think you could be pregnant get a blood test done if it's positive then stop the pill.

1% chance that doesn't seem very high but birthcontrol is only 99% effective and lots of people have gotten pregnant on the pill!
