If you're a massive Nintendo fan then YES! Although if you have the original DS there's not really a point, is there? If you want some other expensive gaming console that's yet to be released, then I'd save up for it and buy it instead...cause you know, the DS lite will drop to a lower price eventually..

No nintendo ds lite sucks believe me a psp is so much better on a psp u can put music,photos,videos and theres internet. Plus the games are better and the graphics also trust me on this nintendo just has games and dual screen

It depends. Are you searching for a new way to play video games? Or are you just willing to play cool video games? DS offers touch screen, so you can slash a sword for example across the screen. PSP is just one of those everyday video gaming platforms but is handheld like the DS.
I recommend a DS, because it offers a new way to play games.
gbanstud06 is wrong. DS can use internet browser (In the future) with Opera Web Browser, then you are able to play movies, music, and multimedia with a special add-on at www.codejunkies.com

YES totally. New Super Mario Bros is awesome. I have a regular DS now, and I'm waiting for the lite to come in other colors. YAY!

Yes, buy it! Assuming, of course, you don't already own a DS:). My recommendations game-wise would be Advance Wars: Dual Strike and New Super Mario Bros.

if u like unique and exclusive game, u can buy DS. but if u want a handheld with a good graphic, i say u buy PSP

I think the answer lies in your financial situation. If you have taken care of your other financial responsibilities and there is nothing else that you can think of that you would rather have, I would say yes you should.
