1. You need to show up to class. Ready to learn.

2. Read the material BEFORE the day you are supose to discuss it. If the lecture about Rome is Tuesday? Read the chapter about Rome the Saturday and Sunday BEFORE that tues.

3. It takes seeing the material 3 times before you absorb it for real. Read it once, Make and outline of the chapter, then explain it to some one ones. This uses your sight (reading), your Kinetics (hand), and your Verbal (speaking) pathways. This makes 3 different routes in your brain the message has to dig in your brain. You are so much more likely to actually remember that way.

4. Don't just try to learn ONLY what is goning to be on the test. Get curious. Ask why should I care, but not in a sarcastic way...If it is chemistry, what does it have to do with you? Well What about all the chemicals in your shampoo? Find out what they are what is sodium lareth sulfate anyway? is it good is it bad? Does it just make the bubbles? Is it a preservative? Talk about the topic in a non school related way, not just for the assigment. You will absorb so much more. If it is history think about what did those changes mean to your ansestors, Where they leaving a country behind at that time? What was going on for them? Your people? where did they live when that way happened... make it personal.

5. If you study well with other people make a study group. If they are a distraction, study on your own. USusally if you are struggling it will help, but if you are having the top grade it might drag you down. Unless they are the group of people you do your "explaining" (talking) part to and that is the only time you to the 3rd part of the 3 ways to study thing.

6. Get enough sleep. Don't party when you should study. There are NO shortage of parties. There will always be another one. If you have to repeat a class you will hate yourself. Trying to repair a bad GPA because you wanted to get drunk for a semester is horrible.

7. Pick a good major, but not just one you think will make you rich. IF you hate it you will sabotage yourself. But seriously journalism and english majors end up as secrataries. Try something with a goal at the end that will get you a job and you will be more focused on doing good because you know your furture is in the balances, not just this one class.

What Makes A Good Student

ASK QUESTIONS!!!! Whether you think it is dumb or not. Read the given book everyday. Don't wait until a couple of days before the test to study. Do study questions that can be found at the end of chapters. Do all the home work. And remember being a good student doesn't mean getting A's and B's, but doing the best you can. For some people have learning disabilities or trouble taking tests school is difficult.

Paying attention in classes. Doing the homework. Studying. And if you dont understand something in a class..ask questions. This will help to make a good student.

A good student is someone who actually wants to learn, and particapate. Good Grades come whens you do these 2 things. Many "students" now a days go to school becuase they have to, not because they want to.

just doing all the work you are assigned. whether or not you realy want to do it.. asking questions when you don't get something even if you feel stupid doing so... and forming study groups with friends (if you want to) if you don't get something you can also do tutoring.. just staying on top of all your work... and doing your best.. having a good attitude towards all your teachers helps as well
