1.31 gallons. 8.0 pounds +/- 0.1 pounds seasonally (winter gasoline blends are less dense).

231 is a useful number. 231 cubic inches = 1 gallon. 2.31 feet of water pressure = 1 psi. And 231 mph is the world record wind speed at ground surface (Mt Washington, NH).

Note that PVC and ABS are not particularly gasoline resistant. They won't dissolve overnight, but they do get squishy after many days.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is great for gasoline - it is what plastic gas cans are made of. But it is a specialty item, at least in that diameter. And end caps are not off-the-shelf items. And it can't be solvent welded, it has to be heat welded or using hot air to melt an HDPE filler rod.

Also, gasoline tanks must be metal for on-the-road vehicles (unlike dirt bikes). Partially to buy time in the event of a vehicle fire. Also, plastic build up a static charge when gasoline flows through/over them (like silk and a plastic comb) and static sparks are NOT good to have around gasoline.

Basic math, pi times r squared times height. The volume of the pipe is 301.6 cubic inches, or 0.1745 cubic feet. Gas weighs 47.17 lb per cubic foot so you'll have 8.23 lb and gas is 6.3 lb per gallon so that'll be 1.31 gallons. Hopefully you are making a tank for a go-kart!

The previous poster used too much math - there are 231 cubic inches in a gallon so you can leave out all the weight and density info -
