a leader, a great leader is someone whoz born, bred and educated amongst normal people, understands the potential in the masses, explores and excavates the hidden strength of his people, is a good orator and is proficient in discourse, has the charisma to make people follow him.
the strength of people is like steam from water which till the time not directed will not produce energy. the a gud leader directs them in the right direction.
revolutions r initiated by leaders which r followed by counter revolutions (Lenin n bukhrin). this is the most crucial social and political transition in a nations history and that where the leader jumps in again n educates the disillusioned ones, n drives them to their destiny which they share for ever.

I think a great political leader should be someone who cares (really cares) for his own people and his own country, the people must always come first.
They all start of on the right foot but as time goes by it seems to be (I'm alright jack) I am very disappointed indeed by the government I have always voted for so c'mon labour think of your political roots, nothings changed.

Do things that advance the lives of the people you serve, things that endure and make a difference.

Example: Jefferson and the Louisiana Purchase, which gained America the west and opened it up to settlement. Huge difference to America.

Another example: Roosevelt started Social Security, which absolutely improved the lives of the elderly, injured and others in this country. Before that, nearly everyone died poor or, worse yet, drove their families into debt before they died.

hmm...i could cite many from history.

but, alas, i haven't seen any in my country in my lifetime!

i would say a great leader is someone who puts the best interests of his country and its people before his own and/or his party's interests.

if only...!
