I don't think that necessarily makes you a racist, I think your past experience has embedded an image in your mind. People tend to learn from their experience so , your logic tells you to stand guard. I am Mexican American, live in Chicago, and find myself in crowds of blacks, whites, eastern Europeans, and Hispanics though I wouldn't go as far as to say that I get nervous, I do become a bit alert sometimes even though I don't share the same experience.

I'm gonna say you are straight up right. You have learned through experience that young black males are predatory animals. They look for weaker ones to exploit. Your experience does not make you a racist.
I know the same facts that you do but I did not grow up in that environment. I know that a group of young black males can be dangerous and I take appropriate actions and precautions. Since I did not learn these facts firsthand, does that make me a racist? It does not make the facts any less true if I am.

If you are in a group of "thugs" you should be nervous. It doesn't matter what color they are. Most black men are decent just the same as any other race. If you are hanging with bullies you are with the wrong people no matter what color. I don't see racism in what you have said. Some people find the stating of facts racist. Go figure.

I don't think it's about black and white, because a large group of men in general, regardless of race, makes me nervous. I understand you had it rough as a kid, and I am sorry for what happened to you as a youngster, but to hold an entire race responsible for the actions of a few isn't right in my opinion.

i dont think it makes u a racist i think what you have been through that it amkes you cautious of your surrounding with them but always keep one thing in mind in this country wehn thre is one bad seed we expect the whole apple to be bad and that is not how it is.there are good and bad in every race and it seems normal for you to be scared by them but dont be dont jump to conclusions they could be good guys just dont let your guard down and walk proud.i just want to say no matter what the color of skin groups of men of any kind can be looking for trouble so think clearly and get on with life dont worry about the past because its over with and you cant change it be happy for today

Well it's understandable the way you feel, especially since your many "run-ins" with them. However, i think you need counselling in order to cope with the way you are feeling especially since it's troubling to you and you know that they are not all the same, and you can find some really cool ones out there.
And no, that doesn't make you racist.

I would,nt worry about it but I would keep my guard up because people in both races hate biracials more than they hate a single race. sometomes its jealousy sometimes just confusion, But you need to understand, it not colour that is reckless, its how people are brought up and situations and neighborhoods they grow up in, Just like my neighborhood for example, all the low-income dysfuncional people act just like each other but they blame each other,s race !

caution dosen't necisarily makes you racist, but remember that not every one falls under a stereotype. It's just your experience has a preset in your mind. just don't hate people or look down on them because of what a diffrent person has done in the past.
i don't usually get along with other females, but that dosen't make me sexist, I have a few good friends that are girls, we just don't have things in common

if it makes you feel better, I fear them too and I am a black female myself, I think to myself that they will never trouble there own but you cant be too sure.
Any mob of people, whatever the race would put fear in me.
Dont worry, they normally carry a chip on their shoulder by being thuggish, by hanging around in gangs is not helping them to allure the police.
Dont worry sweetie!!
