I can't even get it to finish installing to try any of those things. It freezes during live update at installation. Yes, I tried turning the firewall off and the worm and re-installing and several other things. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Do you have it turned off? I have mine set to where once I log on to the internet it automatically kicks on. It is set to my name only so no one can change the settings. See if someone changed the settings or maybe turned off so they can be allowed to view the bad stuff.

Try turn off Windows Firewall temporarily then do the activation.
It may be blocking your Norton Antivirus activation.
You can get to Windows Firewall by going:
Start->Control Panel->WIndows Firewall (depending on your view, if you don't see it, click on Security Center, then WIndows Firewall)

When you logged in initially, did you enter your user name and password and check the box "remember me". I think if you don't check the box you have to do the updates manually.
