If you have heard about Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin comments. What do you think about his first comment that New Orleans is going to be a chocolate city? How would you take that? Then his comments on 60 minutes. They asked him why is it taking so long to clean up N.O. He said well look at NY it's been 5 yrs and they still have a hole in the ground where 2 buildings were? what do you think of those comments?

I agree with DeeDee. I was from the New Orleans area. I do like Ray Nagin. I think he could choose his words alittle wiser. He is a smart man.

Mayor Ray Nagin what can you say about him.. The nation sees most of his negative comments and they can be taken out of context. Being from South Louisiana about 40 miles West of New Orleans I do like Mayor Nagin.. I like him because at first he was not a "true politician" he said what was on his mind and usually said things that needed to be said and what many New Orleanians wanted to be said without regard to the political fallout..
I'm afraid that the thing that most people liked about him is going to be his downfall. Since Katrina our whole area is under a "microscope" and because of that he needs and has to watch what he says.

I think, no, I know the man was and is traumatized by Katrina. I know because I lost EVERYTHING I owned in this storm and I do not live in New Orleans. New Orleans had flooding and as a result of the flooding and the lack of desire of the people to evacuate, there was looting. I live in the rural part of the coast and we had flooding and devastation on a scale I hope to never witness again. New Orleans was predominantly black BEFORE Katrina and probably will ALWAYS be. Leave the man alone. As a fellow resident of the State of Louisiana, I can tell you that he has done the best that he could with the help he got from our government. NOBODY is perfect and during a horrible ordeal like Katrina, NOBODY should be expected to be perfect.

i presumed it grew to become into appauling. If a white individual mentioned i will make New Orleans a white chochlate city then you definately've gotten human beings around the national condemning him. i'm from Houston so which you truly don't get what he truly says Nationaly. He targered Hispanics additionally by using asserting we would pick to make specific we don't have all and assorted that does no longer look like us. i'm drained to seeing the double standards around the rustic. i'm Asian and that i basically hate it how one race can escape being racism and yet another is condemned. ALl might desire to be condemned. Going back to Nagin even some black leaders are outrage against his comments. If i grew to become into white i may well be piss at him. Nagin had to have white help to win the election. he couldn;t basically count on the white vote and that's actuality.

I live near Baton Rouge and I think Nagin is an IDIOT and an embarrasment to the citizens of Louisiana. Did we forget that he did not help his people to evacuate. He had no plan no leadership just a finger to point and blame others. He is not the only one to blame, but if your house was on fire, would you try to get your family out or just sit in the house until the fire department arrived? If you knew two days before the fire was going to start would you just sit there? We had a lot of dealings with the lower class from New Orleans. They tore up hotel rooms, Churches, Civic Centers and just about everywhere else they stayed. With the money they were given, they bought expensive food, TV's etc... I love New Orleans, but I do not want to pay tax dollars to support people that can work but will not. Nagin just shows the mentality of many voters in Louisiana.
I had somone from out of state ask if our Governor was really as stupid as she comes across on TV. The answer is Yes!

One of the reasons that NO was hit so bad is because the oil industry was allowed to fill in or destroy marsh and wetlands that served to absorb water and keep it away from New Orleans. So, maybe the environmentalists should be listened to more often. (tree hunger remark!)
Instead of investigating WHY most of NO is still in ruins and people can't go home..the media once again has focused on trying to sensationalize media bites to get viewers. I'm going to wait to see the whole interview before I decide.

It's obvious from him comments that his IQ is lower than the elevation of New Orleans.
It's also obvious since his re-election that the majority of those voting in New Orleans have a similar IQ.
I think the money allocated to take care of the problems in New Orleans would be better spent bulldozing the city and making it back into a swamp.
The tree-huggers should be for that....

Its seems like his comments are made to inflate his ego, he should realize that he actually has to get things moving there rather then whining about the aid. Also his comments are stupid and he is stupid. I am surprised he was voted back in.
