Have you ever heard someone referred to as having "their head in the clouds"? Meaning they are flaky and have wild ideas about things, lofty ambitions etc.? Well, "down to earth" is the opposite.

Someone who is not false and completely relatable; they could chill with you and your friends. A lot of people say this about famous celebrities who don't let their money ruin them. For us average joes it just means someone who has real friend possibility.
