I don't think you can make $80k without a degree. There would be too many degreed people going after the same job and getting it. I would suggest making your goals a little more realistic.

From my experience for college. Make sure it is what you want. Ask a lot of questions on the job field, do they find your job of your dreams? Do you have to have the experience before a company will hire you. If you at this time don't have the financial back up to support yourself is an internship going to pay your bills? No only if they offer a small token of pay while you learn and get the experience. I will tell you I am still on deferment on my loans, still not hired for the career I went to college for as it is required to have 2-4 years experience. I am so sorry I went to college. What I know now I would have never done it. I can however, tell you I am now trying to turn this around. I started my own business, you can too. Check out my website at http://www.automaticbuilder.com/alundberg
It is fun, I enjoy it. I guarantee you, you will not regret it.

The question is hard to answer with limited information related to specifics. For someone to answer this question, they would need to know the industry your work in and what kind of education everyone has who makes the 80K you are seeking.

Insurance sales - Auto and Home. Get on with an agent and have them pay for your P&C License and start selling under them. You'll eventually start making money in about a year.

Move to Chicago, become a Community Association Manager (CAM in the business) and manage a condo building downtown. It's a "hot" job, always changing and you can move up quickly once you get your feet wet!!

the easiesst route is getting a good education: don't be lazy
