1/1=1 (1 x 1 = 1),
1/2=1/4 (2 x 2 = 4),
1/3=1/9 (3 x 3 = 9),
1/4=1/16 (4 x 4 = 16),
1/5=1/25 (5 x 5 = 25),
1/6=1/36 (6 x 6 = 36),
1/7=1/49 (7 x 7 = 49),
And so forth.The Idea
is you would have a fraction,
and you would muliply the
denominator by itself. And you
would have 1/the product.
Example: 1/6=1/36 (6 x 6 = 36)

2^2 = 4
3^2 = 9
4^2 = 16
5^2 = 25
.....

6^2 = 36
7^2 = 49

Therefore, the next two items in the series are:

1/36 , 1/49...

The general rule for the series is 1/n^2 for n = 1 to 7

What the first person said. Next is 1/36, 1/49. I think that is the only thing the teacher wants you to notice.

(1/n)^2

(1/1)^2 = 1
(1/2)^2 = (1/4)
(1/3)^2 = (1/9)
(1/4)^2 = (1/16)
(1/5)^2 = (1/25)
(1/6)^2 = (1/36)
(1/7)^2 = (1/49)

or you can use n^(-2)
