No, it's actually a pretty good security practice to not give someone that you don't know info about yourself on-line. It's people like you who raise the average IQ of the standard internet user. I'm giving your question a thumbs-up.

I don't think so. In some chats it might be considered rude, but I consider them to be wrong. On the Internet the less you reveal about yourself the better. The converse is also true.. don't believe everything you see on the net.
