Don't worry. Your eye is a closed system so it can only go so far up (it won't go behind the eyeball or into your brain). It's either up high or you dropped it without knowing it.

They're right. Your eyeball is a closed system and it can't go anywhere, but don't leave it in for a few days! You could develop an infection or a scratch that can hurt for days. Have someone else look into your eye to see if they can see it. (Do this over an area that is safe in case the lens falls out) If the person can see it, try flushing it out with saline. Try keeping your fingers from poking and prodding! The lens may be drying out and using saline will help hydrate it again and move easier. Look again, or have your helper look. If you still feel it, gently massage your eyelid. If, after a couple of trys doing this, and you are getting anxious, then call your dr.,but using the saline and gentle massage should work. Be calm, take your time, and don't forget to wash your hands!!

You probably put it on backwards! I am an expert with contact lenses now because I used to have that problem when I first started using contacts! It probably already fell out of your eye and you don't realize it!

SIMPLE
grab your eye lid by the lashes pull out untill your eye lid isn't touching your eye anymore. look down at the same time and let go of your lid then look up. Do this a couple of times and if it's back there you will find it.

If you can't feel any soreness anywhere, chances are, it's fallen out all together.

If you're still worried in a couple of hours, get someone to have a look at your eye. Don't worry - it can't disappear into your brain.

It has either fallen out ( move slowly and look for it )
or it's moved up under you eye-lid ( you should be able to "look up" and gently massage it back into place )
