Do you like working for a male or female boss? If you've had the chance to work with both, who was more effective?

It all depends on your and the management style of the boss. You cannot ever say that a male is or is not better than a female. That's totally sexist. It's all about the individual.

Personality styles of all kinds are found among both males and females. It would be unwise to categorize an entire gender as better or worse based on experience with only a few.
I have reported to both good and bad male and female bosses. I also researched personality types among bad bosses and found both males and females in every bad-boss type. You can read about them here:

I don't know that it really matters. I have worked for both male and female bosses that are effective and ineffective. It all depends on the person themself. I have found femail bosses to be a little more understand about the childcare issues if they have children of their own. However, female bosses without children are about where my male bosses have been.

Lol....you should never work for a female boss. Usually, they are not promoted based on merit which means they are worthless in getting your department the high profile important work and protecting the department from crap from above. This is very bad for your career. Also, they are unlikely to be going places and even less likely to take you along if you do good work for them. Many of them are just plain nuts, making for a toxic work environment. It's a toss up if men or women have more to worry about working under them. Most of them hate men and will do various things to sabotage you if you are an up and comer (either that or they want to f uck you which is an even worse problem). But, most women play a zero sum game with other women (ie they think that if another woman has something, there is less for them and act accordingly). Jealousy and backstabbing are the rule of the day. Either that or they want to f uck you....which is an even worse problem than it is for a man put in this position, lol.
What you want is a boss who is competant, sane, aggressive and going places. They should take no crap and give no crap, if you understand my meaning. They should reward good work and punish people not doing their job. They should be looking to build a team of good people and protect that team both from losers within the ranks and from the higher ups. In short, they should be out to win and bring you along for the ride.
Very few women meet those criteria.

I prefer the female boss because I am a good looking male and it's easier for me to suck up and become her little love pet
