I assume you mean an irrational fear (phobia). That is, of something that will not actually harm you. Extinction therapy is often successful. That means exposing yourself repeatedly to the subject of fear in ever increasing amounts. Given enough time, even your subconscious brain eventually learns that it won't hurt you through such conditioning. Again, I'm assuming this is indeed the case. If it's something that *will* hurt you, then the fear is rational and should be respected for what your subconscious is trying to tell you instead of suppressed. That's just being smart.
