Firstly, are you gay as well? If you are this may be a good opportunity to let your father know and give him a chance to explain his story. Give him the opportunity to tell your mother himself. If he insists on hiding this from her, in your mothers best interest, you need to speak out for him. No one deserves to me deceived in such a way.

I am gay as so is my father. After 25 years of marriage to my Mom and four children later he left my Mom for another man. HE had to break loose and live his life before it was too late. Everything is all good now too. My Mom knows and she supports our lifestyles and accepts us for who we are.

Hmmm ... well, I guess it'd depend on if they were still together or not. If they weren't, then it wouldn't harm anybody to mention that interesting fact, at least, not as much as if they were still married. And I guess ... I don't know, I'd have to be in your shoes to know what to do. Like, if he cheated on her with another man, then of course I'd urge him to be truthful to her and if he refused then I'd tell her .. but yeah, I'd have to know the whole situation before I could tell you what I'D do. Oh, but you said if I was a boy, is that to say that you'd be afraid to tell her for fear that she'd think he had molested you or something? Because then I'd make sure she knew that he HADN'T ...unless he had. Umm ... yeah. Lol, I don't know what to say really. Those are my thoughts, sorry if I didn't help much.

no, I wouldn't tell her.

There is no reason to make things more difficult for both of them, plus, he was never straight if he is gay now -- he may have been hidden or he may be bi, but straight, never.

I'd talk to my dad about it before I talked to my mom.

I suspect your mom knows a lot more than you think she knows...mind your own business. Good luck

he probably *wasn't* straight to begin with. you can't turn gay. i'd talk to him about telling her - it should be him that tells her, not you.
