Scientists didn't intvent talking!! What sort of question is this? Languages and speaking developed over time. Back in the beginning I suppose humans used signals similar to that of which animals use today. Then soudns meant something and gradually we became more complex mammals and we developed our languages.

No one 'invented' talking, it evolved from grunts and moans into words and a full language.

When man had not yet evolved full speech they were similar to modern day monkeys. So things weren't that bad, man could still yell and screech and grunt.
