millimeter (mm) is the unit of measuring rainfall in a certain area for a certain period of time.

12mm rainfall means that 12mm of rain has been recorded in a certain area over a certain period of time.

Lets say 12mm rain has been recorded in cali in a period of three hour. This shows that the rain guage (a device used to measure rain, the rain is collected in a container, there are a number of different types of rain guage each has its own container. eg a graduated cylinder, a bucket, a pan etc etc) has gathered 12mm of rain in cali during the the rainfall in a period of three hours.

I hope it will be helpful to you.

Itis the amount of rain that you can measure in a cup with 100mm diameter that has been left out in the rain for 24 hours. You measure in millimeters from the bottom.

Oh my goodness. A milli liter is also known as a mm, on most measuring tapes it'll show the metric measurements too.
Does this help?
