Ive reached a Lull in my music, I cant stand pop or RnB, generally like guitar based stuff but not american modern rock, like the 60s and also enjoy Chilled dance eg, Massive Attack......anything you can suggest as my head has just gone blank searchin for stuff.
Oh yeah if you want, search for John Martyn - Solid Air, thats what Im listen to at the moment, I seriously recommend it.......Telepopmusic too. Thanks.

Queen? They have over 20 albums to choose from ;o)
One of their last - Made In Heaven - is very chilled and not really 'standard' Queen and you might like it

The reason you can't stand pop is that much of it is shallow and simplistic with very little musical merit and even less real talent behind it. If you want to discover and listen to real music you will have to open your mind and listen to other genres several times before you get into the groove. This is because we automatically tend to reject that which is different, that's why a new track is more likely to sell if it has been regularly plugged on radio first.
There are two musical genres that stand head and shoulders above what you are used to listening to, Classical and Blues.
Firstly classical, Mozart for example had more musical talent at age four than almost all current day pop stars put together and he went on to compose some of the most profoundly beautiful music ever conceived in the entire history of the world. And most people are so dumb they don't listen to it.
Secondly Blues, Just about everything you listen to today was influenced by the blues. If you were to explore the blues from the earliest delta or field blues right through to bebop, swing, jazz and rock and roll you would learn more about music and gain much more enjoyment from it than from almost any other genre. The blues has the distinction of being unusually honest and full of real human emotion, it is real music. The Blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits.

If you're looking for something a little of the beaten path I would recommend Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. They are a roots rock outfit. Roger Clyne was the lead singer of The Refreshments, they were moderately popular in the 90's. The best thing about RCPM is they tour alot and the shows are outstanding, cheap and a whole lot of fun. Check them out at azpeacemakers.com

Hi!
Can I suggest, if you like John Martyn, you go back in time a bit to Crosby, Stills Nash and Young, or some of Neil Young's awesome solo work (a lifetime of listening there), you'd probably enjoy Harvest Moon.
ooh, and JJ Cale!
'Sweet little mystery' remains one of my favourite songs.

Try Barenaked Ladies. They are coming out with a new album next month and their latest single, Easy, is out on iTunes. My favorite album by them is Maroon, but you could also start with the basic, Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits. This will get you a great once over of the band.
