Are teen girls REALLY that uninformed?

Seriously, every other question is a teen girl who has sex (unprotected, of course) asking if they might be pregnant. Are you girls seriously that uneducated that you don't know how or if you might be pregnant?

Do yourselves a HUGE favor, and stop having sex! Or, at the very least, go to a place like Planned Parenthood, get some info on what it takes to get pregnant, and get some free birth control! Your life will be much better in 5 years if you are not trying to juggle a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and trying to get your GED. I'm not saying this to be mean, it just bothers me that so many girls seem to not know what is going on with thier own bodies.

I was a teen mother, and trust me, it's NOT EASY. It's NOT fun and games having a baby as a teen. Do what you can NOW so you can still have fun and go out and be a teen while you still are a teen.

For the record, I'm 28 now, and STILL with the father of my 1st baby. I have 3 healthy kids, all of whom are starting school next week (my youngest is just starting preschool).

If I sound angry, I am- at the lack of education kids seem to get these days. I agree- parents should help teach them about sex education. I already talk with my 10 year old about the very basics of puberty, even though she's likely still a few years off.

Talking now means you'll be more comfortable when it comes to stickier subjects later!

I THINK ALOT OF THESE GIRLS WANT TO BE PREGNANT! It's really sad that they are uneducated.The school systems refuse to teach them the reality of what can happen. The refuse to give then condoms so these kids are curious and to "fit in" they have sex with random partners the average teenager is either having sex ir thinking of who they want to have sex with.

Curioisty kills the cat. So when these teens realize hey I want to have sex then the guy doesn't even bother they cry i'm pregnant to keep these boys who by the time there what 18 they won't even want to be with or they will have already been left with a child.

But all the expression in the world wont break thru to these kids. Its really sad.


I blame the government and the parents.

1. The goverment because they rather spend money fighting a stupid war than teaching these kids ANYTHING. I mean all these kids are getting dumb they can tell you what day Tupac died. But if you ask them Who invented light they are like HUH? But no one cares that the youth is ignorant.

2. Parents refuse to look at what there kids are doing. The rather say hey go online and figure it out on your own. I raise my daughter with caution. If she has a question I try to explain it to her. But parents now a days are so worked up with them selves they put there kids on the back burner. So its not just the teens hfaults its how they were raised and what they see.

But why don't the parents of these girls teach them anything? That's the sad part. Maybe because they live in the slums, have 2 or 3 jobs and are trying to raise a family of several kids with no man around

i went to a catholic school were only absinence was taught and my bf thought the rhythm method was just as good. my parents never had the talk with me.i only have ever had on bf and am now pregnant but am 18 and starting college which compared to some of the other teens is not as bad!but i agree with you and hope someone will listen and wont be in the trouble i am now in.but some girls dont pay attention or listen till its to late.

I asked the same question. I guess that some just want the "joy" of having a baby, the one in their dreams. I just find it so hard to believe that in this day and age, anyone would get pregnant unless they wanted to. Accidents happen, but few and far between. They CANNOT be that uninformed - it is everywhere. They choose not to use protection. Pregnant? How about AIDS?

trust me i agree i may have not been majorly young wen i had my first i was 18 wen i feel pregnant im now 20 and my son is 11 mnths even he is a handfull i just read one about a girl who has 2 sets of twins and a newborn and is 16 to be honest i think some of them r just out to have a laugh and to see wot people would write i dnt belive some of them it sounds like rubbish

serously what is worse is some of thier parents.....i know lots of teen girls with babys...at least 1/2 of them thier parents "parent both the child and the mother" so wrong.... i am 23 im pregnant with my 2nd child i wanted one when i was 18 thank god i didnt get one! too younge then too (for my mentalness i was too young) my daughter is 1 1/2 and this child is due st patricks day i feel like no childhood was robbed from me!

for real .... These kids need to listen and to whats good for them. It affects the whole family when u bring a child to the world, not because the child itself but the baby's irresponsible parents and the grandparents always end up raising the child.

Mind your own business. If people want us teenagers to be more informed on sex and pregnancy then it needs to be actually taught. School sex ed sucks. All anyone preaches is abstinence. Thats never going to happen, get over it. What would be better is showing teenagers every way to protect themselves. Abstinence lessons do not work.

YOU WOULD THINK WITH ALL THE INFORMATION AND EDUCATION AVAILABLE KIDS WOULD HAVE BETTER SENSE BUT FROM WHAT I KNOW THEY ARE CLUELESS. WHEN I WAS A KID I KNEW WHERE BABIES CAME FROM BECAUSE I WAS TAUGHT AND I WAS TERRIFIED TO GET PREGNANT. I DIDN'T WANT THE RESPONSIBILITY AND BECAUSE MY DAD WOULD HAVE CRUCIFIED ME... NOW SO MANY KIDS HAVE EVERYTHING HANDED TO THEM AND LITTLE FAMILY SUPPORT TO KEEP THEM SAFE AND SMART. JUST PARK THEM IN FRONT OF THE TV AND LET BART SIMPSON, MADONNA AND AXLE ROSE RAISE THEM...

I agree on the basis of your points, but you sound too angry and you don't want to anger these people - they'll end up either ignoring you or doing the opposite
