For the readers over 40, at what age did you "lock in" to the music you most like now?

When I was about 13 (middle 1950's) I began to listen to rock and roll and listened to everything new that came along until about the early 80's when the newer music just started to lose it's appeal for me. So I guess I "locked in" on the now classic rock/doo wop/r&b/pop in the early 80's. Hope this makes sense.

I discovered top 40 radio in 1961 when I was 10 years old. This was the time when the big hits were by The Marcels,Dion,Freddy Cannon,Jimmy Dean,Troy Shondell. The Miracles,Mary Wells,The Flairs & many others. This is still my favorite type of music.

I'm still not locked into any one type of music. I like just about everything (except for opera & rap). I can only take one type of music for a short while, so it's good to be open to a variety!
