Heartburn is common during pregnancy.
Some tips to help:
Eat less spicy or acidic foods if you find these upset your stomach.
Try to eat a balanced diet as much as you can. I found greasy starchy foods made my heartburn much worse during pregnancy.
Eat smaller meals six times a day rather than 3 big meals. Smaller amounts are easier to digest than a big huge meal.
Take papaya enzyme. Some people find this helps with heartburn.
Be careful about eating a lot of tums. Some is OK, but too much is not good for your kidneys.
I hope you feel better soon!

Talk to your doctor.
You can take Tums, but they probably won't work if you're already having heartburn bad enough to write about it.
You can also get Maalox and keep it in the fridge. The cold helps. (It's safe; nurses often give Maalox to women in labor who experience heartburn.)
But I'm guessing Maalox won't work, either.
My OB said I could take OTC Zantac. And, in fact, I could take double the dose recommended on the label. That worked for a good long while.
And when THAT didn't work anymore, she gave me a prescription for Prevacid. Problem solved. Seriously, I never experienced another day of heartburn after that, and the heartburn went away immediately after I delivered.
Good luck.

It is so so so normal. Just try to avoid spicy and acidic food (I know, 'yeah right') but I recently heard on TV that a spoonful of apple vinegar can help to!
