Swamped Definition

Well, I guess if you ever try walking through a marsh or swamp, you run into all kinds of thick jungle-like foliage, vines, Spanish moss dripping off tree limbs, etc. There may be boggy, muddy, impassable areas with thick undergrowth as well, which makes it difficult to even move your feet and get through it all without a machete or something to cut through everything standing in the way. If you are rowing a canoe, it might be difficult to go very fast, too. So if you have been swamped, think of how you are trying to get through a pile of - not foliage - but work, or assignments, or whatever.

being swamped means having so much to do you feel like its engulfing your person. e.g. " I have so much work to do I feel swamped!" being overwhelmed by the task ahead
