We use ink every day. Printers, pens... But only a few know who invented ink!? Could those few tell me that?

"octopus sepia" was one the the original substances used for an ink and still is!!!!india ink may be comprised of this sustance and i use it for my calligraphy just like the scribes of the ancient greek and egyptian eras!!!ground minerals in oil bases were used as colorants also!!!powdwered metallic inks suspended in solvents were used to "illuminate medieval scrollwork with "gilding",blue of "lapis lazuli",green from "malakite copper ore"....etc

Personally I would not know who the discoverer of ink is but the issue is rather irrelevent when you think about it. The inventor of ink, whoever he might be, could not have been much of an innovator as cave drawings prove that man, long ago in prehistory, was able to find color by which to make an indeliable mark. How it came to become ink no doubt was a gradual progression.

The Chinese. They invented many things...gunpowder, pasta (yes pasta), fireworks, and ink.

An old civilization with a huge population is bound to invent many things.
