Traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage
6 small new potatoes, quartered
2 medium carrots, thickly sliced
1 1/2 to 2 lbs corned beef briskit
1 medium onion, cut into eighths
3 bay leaves
8 whole black peppercorns
1/2 head cabbage, cored and cut into wedges
Place the potatoes and carrots in the bottom of the slow cooker. Cover with the beef brisket and place the onion, bay leaves and peppercorns on top. Add water to cover. Cover; cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours. Halfway through cooking, add the cabbage wedges.

I am half Cajun and half Italian and I love both types of food. If we are not cooking Cajun(Gumbo,boiled Crawfish,fried alligator, yum), we love to eat out Italian. But there is not any real good Italian in Southern Louisiana. Olive Garden tries hard though.

Potatoes, without a doubt. They are full of protein, many minerals that are hard to get in our diet (just below the skin), fiber below the skin, Vit C and other vitamins. The Irish lived almost exclusively on potatoes during what was, no suprise, called the "potato famine." They are low in calories (without all the toppings).
And they can be made in soooo many ways. I like them all, pretty much, but I also like all the toppings that we use with them.

My favorite food is at Outback Steakhouse. I order: The Wallahalla Pasta.
It is fettichinni Alfredo with broccoli and 8 ounces of very spicy marinated chicken breast. it is so good and I love how spicy it is.Plus, there is enough for lunch on the next day.Teamed up with their house salad and homemade
ranch dressing and croutons,it is to die for. They have really good Iced Tea, mixed drinks,and fabulous desserts.I recommend Outback Steakhouse,their
pasta dishes, fillet mignon and every thing else is excellant.Please go and try my favorite: Wallahalla Pasta. You will "NOT" be dissappionted.
