No. Harvard is, no doubt, a good school. It is expensive, but many are. You don't have to go to Harvard to get a good education and a college degree. Wherever you go, if you study hard for your degree, you will be rewarded. I don't know what university is the very best, there are many good universities. Check them all out.

Why do you want to go to Harvard? If it's simply for the name, that is not a good reason to go and you need to look elsewhere. (If you can't handle cold weather, you will hate living in Cambridge) If, after researching other non Ivy League schools, you decide you want to go to Harvard for it's academics, then you should consider it. Even if you get a 4.0, perfect SAT scores, take tons of AP classes, do lots of volunteer work, participate and lead in extracurriculars, there's still less than 10% chance you will be accepted. Harvard turns down thousands of "perfect" students every year. Just do the best you can, don't beat yourself up if you don't get in and have a back up plan.

Harvard is one of the best to have on your resume. But it depends on what you want to study. There is no college that is 100% no doubt the very best.

It all depends on what you want to study. Harvard is well regarded for law and business. Other schools rule for medicine and engineering for example.

University is free of charge, both for Swedes and for foreigners! You only have to pay for the books and for the room. Many courses are in English.
