Why does every time you anwer a question do you get points? what are the points for ?

When you ask a question, it costs you 5 points.

When you answer a question, you're awarded 2 points.

Yahoo keeps the 3 point profit. So far, they've amassed billions of points, and their financial future has never been brighter.

To service community conscience, Yahoo also doles out a 10 point bonus to 'best answers'. Considering that some questions get 50 or more answers (250 point income), the expenditure for public relations is well spent.

there is not point, except bragging rights, it is a game, like anyother, it is something basically to do if you are bored and you want to entertain you brain, or very often in some cases enjoy a good laugh.
think about it this way, when you play jeopardy at home and count your money you could have one if you were really on the show, you can pretend you have it, but in reality, it is only numbers to show us how really bored and preoccupied as a society we have become to have the most of anything
