You won't be able to. Just accept that this is how much it will cost to use your checks when you don't have money. Keep in mind that writing checks when you don't have the money is, technically, fraud. With that in mind, $33 isn't that much compared to jail.

If its the first time, try calling customer service. Let me guess? you bank with Bank of America? If they can't help you, open an account with US bank. Get a credit card or a line of credit that can be linked to your account to protect you from a overdraft. They do not charge a fee for that. Bank of America sucks!

well, the only way to do that is to open a saving account and have them ste up that overdrafts come out of that savings account, but most banks charge you to transfer money to the account to cover the checking. as far as your bank "crediting" you overdraft fees...fat chance. best thing to do is stop writing checks or using your debit card at starbucks.

Stop writing checks. If it's an accidental overdraft you get once in a great while, they might "forgive" the fee. But if you are getting them all the time, then you are SOL. Start budgeting better.

If this is the first time it happened, call them and let them know it wont happen again, and they are usually willing to do this. This happened to me once and I talked to my bank about it and they put the charges back in my acct.
