If the fleas are carrying some kind of disease you can get it from their bites. If you are scratching and break the skin, you open up your system to outside invasion of bacteria and other filth. So, even if the fleas are clean you might still get sick.

yes, you can get sick from fleas. Scratching the bites leaves you open to infection so keep them clean and put antibiotic ointment (like neosporin or generic) on them if they become open sores. Also, I have heard of children contracting intestinal worms from fleas. My suggestion would be to treat any animals and your house often. You can get animal flea treatment from a vet, I don't suggest using Harts because in my experience it doesn't work very well, but it is considerably cheaper. You can also find carpet powder that treats fleas and you just sprinkle it on the carpet and vacuum it up, you can find it at most Walmarts.

Yes, fleas can carry disease. Fleas caused the Bubonic Plague back in medieval times.

as far as i know u can get sick but u wont die or anything but just get anti-itch cream and clean ur animals if u have any
