I'm a veteran Rider but never on a bike with a suicide shift/jockey shift

Couldn't say it any better than chopperchopste. The man 's been there. Never heard of a Sporty with a suicide shift, though.

I see you get a bunch of morons answering your question.firs off its simple once you get used to it,left foot clutch where you used to shift the shift lever goes forward once for first gear and the other three you pull it back.one forward three back.you dont have to be in neutral when you stop.just hold the cluch with your left foot and your right foot holds the bike up.If your parked on a hill use the cluch to keep it still instead of the brake.been riding suicide shift open primary no front brake all my life.

In the old days we used to shift it with our left foot so that we wouldn't have to take a hand off the bars.

that bike did not come with a suicide shift when new, put it back to orig. In answer to your question, when you stop ,make sure it in neutral

Real life is that taking your hand off the bars to shift, which is something we do often in corners, is dangerous. return the sporty to stock and enjoy it safely

the old harley 74's had that shifters on them they were next to the fuel tank
