Not here Cat. In Canada we've got everyones culture now. Well in the centers of population that is. Everyone seems to want the same sorts of things. They want their children to be safe, educated; enjoy what life has to offer. They all seem to want to live in houses, go to their churches or temples; have parties; seems universal really. I see the commonalities, the different cultures just make it interesting. None appear superior to another from my observations. We've got all those nationals listed in significant numbers, a whole lot more from other places too. Seems like were all getting along, none above another. Kind of nice really, when I think about it.

some white men think they are superior and half of them have a 3rd grade education, they eat with their mouths full, beat their wives and children, don't take showers, have no manners and have one favorite shirt that has never seen the inside of a washing machine. In the United States, not sure where their family of origin is from. How is that for cultural?

Your concept is correct. It is born of ignorance, fear, and a lack of willingness to study and understand the nuances of other cultures. Unfortunately the need for one race or nationality to think that they are superior to another is systemic in all nations and nationalities. Much of this is born of history of past wrongs,. One of the problems and I believe the greatest problem stems from early teaching of concepts mostly by parents and peers that a person of a certain race or culture is suoerior to another.
Time and social pressure does not allow them to research the other race or nationalities to the extent needed to form the proper prerequisite understanding and as a result the individual is forced to learn that which he is told by other people affected by the same conditioning. Therefore it is futile to attempt to inform every singke individual that which is necessary to end racism and national bigotry.
From this comes the perpetuation of this problem.

I'm an American, but I know that this phenomenon, basic to all of human nature, has been written about in a best-seller from the year 1936, that is still in print and available today: How To Win Friends And Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

Everyone thinks that Americans are stupid and lazy. I live in a community with a major university and this is the popular thinking. Not to say that all peoples of foreign decent think this way. But many do.

Get Real.....This kind of "narrow thinking" as been around since Cain and Abel. Just part of the Human Way.
Judge the Country and it's people on it's actions, not on it's speeches.

Yes, I agree with you. I'm American but in most ways I am embarrassed by that. The majority rules and I do not saddle up with the majority. I think our government is overrun with corruption and power. I think we are overly arrogant as a country and that will no doubt back fire.

I'm British and us Brits tend to believe that Americans themselves think they are the superior race, however we don't think it, we think Americans are totally over the top, with the attitude that bigger is better, we think they have disgusting table manners and are very loud and brash.

I hate to break this to you, but people in MOST other countries feel that they are in some way superior to citizens of other countries. It's called being human.
LOL - Canadian pride - WE all get along - not like you Americans!
