is Srilanka a good place to spend time?

i have chosen Srilanka to spend my next vacation.is it a better place to concentrate and write a book about south east asian cultural items and people?

hi there,i'm a srilankan.having spent 8 years of my life there,i can wholeheartedly tell you that it's a country with lot of diversity.

there's the ancient ruins(during the reign of the kings) in Anuradhapura,Polonnaruwa & Dambulla.then there's the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy where they safeguard the Buddha's Sacred Tooth & if your lucky,you'll be able to catch the Kandy Esala Perehara(but that's in August).

as for the people,it varies.for instance in Kandy you'd would often find very traditional people whereas in Colombo you'd come across very westernised people.

anyway,i hope you have fun there & i believe you can definitely have enough aspects there to write a book on south east asian cultural items and people.
