Many bigger people are only following current fashions when wearing leggings. A legging is designed with a elasticated band and stretchable materials ideal enough to cater and cover any mass area of flesh required.

If you see people wearing smaller clothing, that looks tight and shrunk, i suppose many this person has not realised that the item of garment has either shrunk in the wash or that they have put on some excess weight unaware that it is causing this look.

Wait until you are fat, yourself. I'm a 43yo guy - 6 feet tall & 250 pounds. See, when you're fat, you tend to be V-shaped. So in order to get trousers or a skirt to stay up, it needs to be tighter - no hips to hold it up. Then, as you're V-shaped, trousers/skirts cut in & it looks like there is a roll of fat overhanging the waist-line. That's not really so - it's the V-shape.

I wear elasticated clothing sometimes, because my weight can fluctuate by 10-20 pounds in a couple of weeks - just figure how expensive it gets in clothes if I buy a new set of clothes, each time my weight changes. Then again, no-one makes a good-looking set of clothes for more than a 38-inch waist.

Fortunately, I've lost 40 pounds from my highest weight & hope to be down under 200 by Xmas - with a goal weight of 180 pounds.

I must speak up for fat chicks. I never wear clothes that reveal my rolls thats nasty. even clothes that hug to close and reveal rolls are disgusting. and its not that fat people wear clothes that are too small, as we all may know different designers make different cuts. i might wear a 18 in one brand but weat a 22 in another brand. also bigger clothes cost more, maybe they cant afford to buy more clothes after gaining weight. i totally understand where you are coming from. im fat but $hit im not tryna blind anyone with a nasty sight. fat people should use a girdle, i do. fat people should suck that $hit in, i do. the nastiest one is when male or female have that lower belly roll right above the genitals and the let that $hit hang out. please people buy a shirt long enough no one wants to see that.

Its that usually stretch pants and shirts are made from lighter more breathable fabric. When fat women get warm they usally will wear whatever it takes to stay a couple of degrees cooler, even it is at the price of looking like a cow. Sometimes they will even convince themselves that they look good, just so they can go out in public in such outfits.

Fat people do not wear smaller sized clothes. It might appear so because unless it's a few sizes bigger, it hugs their curves- which are fat rolls, which in turn makes YOU think their clothes are too small.

In other cases, they may be in denial about their size and shop for the size they were before a weight gain, or wear their old clothes, which may also be too small.

My theory is that (not just for "fat" people but this applies to anyone) - the smaller the size of clothing you can squish into, the better you feel about your body. Unfortunately a lot of people don't realize that if you wear clothes that fit properly, it won't show off the "bad" parts that make you feel self concious about your body in the first place! :) One of my favorite TV shows is "What Not to Wear" because they teach people how to dress to fit their body -and- personality.

The leggings are so comfy to wear, whatever the size.

I think they outgrow their clothes without realising.

Not that it's anything to do with anyone else what they wear.

Because they want to kid themselves they're thin!
I have also noticed that clothes manufacturers are changing their sizes to make people think they're actually loosing weight! Like now, a size 10 top will fit a size 16 person! Which means that people like myself cannot find anything to fit cos everything's too big!!!And all to make fat people feel good about themselves!

That is a paradox. Looks just terrible. If I had a great big fat behind, I do whatever to conceal it. It's beyond me why anyone would think that a behind the size of two lumpy, cellulite pocked, jello jiggling bowling bowls in attractive. Down with junk in the trunk. I want a slim and trim backside without exception.
