Which is EXACTLY why I don't pay a bit of attention until it comes closer to wherever I am. It pays to be prepared, but these things have a mind of their own. Why fret over something that MAY or MAY NOT hit? Uuugh. How I loathe media-hype.

Of course it is news. People who are in the potential path of the storm (which may be a hurricane when it reaches the Gulf) need to be warned and to prepare. Such preparation could save lives. I'd rather be prepared and have it not become a hurricane, than to be unprepared and be hit by a hurricane.

Ernesto is a large sized storm in an area that has incubated many destructive storms in the past, and is dropping huge amounts of water right now which can cause flooding.

I guess on a day when no one new has been arrested for JonBenet's murder, no planes have been diverted because of suspected terrorist threats, Mel hasn't been arrested again for DUI, etc., etc., this would count as news.

I live on the southeast coast. We're used to being told a hurricane is heading our way even when they don't have a clue exactly where it's heading....

I dont know if this may be news, but i doubt it. If it was a danger the government would have been going crazy, making statements and taking every precaution.
