Question

I'm working on a project and I need 2 know if the ancient Mayan people had any enemies???
Where there any natural causes that contributed 2 their downfall??
Any intersting facts???
Please help me with this!

The belief is that a combination of warfare and drought caused them to abandon their cities. Obviously if they were at war they had enemies.
They used a multitude of calendars and the surviving Maya still use many of them today.
BTW, they did not live in South America. They lived in Central America.

Are the school sytems/parents doing anything to teach kids how do find their own answers? Too many questions like this that can be answered with a little bit of poking around.

And to those giving an answer, at very minimum put a little effort into it! If you don't know, don't guess. Or poke around. Maybe I sound like a jerk, but "idk" as an abbreviation is the height of laziness.

I never heard of the Mayans having enemies. It main reasons to the downfall of their civiliazation may have been draught or disease. No Conquistidors this time. This civilization was before the Incans or Aztecs.

A couple of interesting facts. The Mayans played a primitave version of soccer/basketball. The losers were sacraficed.

According to the Mayan calendar, the world ends in 2012. Lots of fun.
