Darwin is one cool place - I love it there.

The weather at the moment will be humid and around 28 - 32 degrees, so pack light!

I'm not too sure about halal places, but I imagine there would be as Darwin is so multicultural. There is a great place called The magic Wok in town which is worth checking out - all kinds of interesting food on display if you have adventurous tastes!

The wharf is also a great place for a cheap feed. Anything from fish and chips through to Thai food and other Asian dishes.

Trust me - you can't have a bad timein Darwin - everyone is very causal and laid back and very, very friendly

Have a great weekend! The cost of food in Darwin is more expensive than the other big cities in Australia because most of the food is shipped in. I'm not sure about Halal food, but some of the best meals of my trip were in Darwin a couple of years ago.

You can expect tropical weather - very hot like Asia. The culture is laid back like all of Australia. Most people work more than one job because it is expensive to live there. People are very friendly. There is a great museum there, and be sure to walk along the Esplanade. You will see huge bats if you take the walkway. Also, be sure to feed the fish at the fish feeding area. They eat it right out of your hand! Enjoy.
