I am relocating from the virgin islands and that's what i've been told. In the Virgin Islands I've never been exposed to that so I am kinda scared of moving there now.

Hi Shay-Shay, you already know my opinion of Tucson, but I disagree with people that say "racism is everywhere" - yes, it's true, but some cities are worse places to live than others. I lived in Phoenix for a few years and never experienced the type of prejudice that I saw on an almost daily basis in Tucson. For example, I was pulled-over by the police multiple times in Tucson (no I was not speeding, breaking any law, etc.)...in Phoenix, it never happened to me. Not that Phoenix is the ideal, but it is better than Tucson in my opinion. I even lived down on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a few years, and I think Tucson is worse than the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There is a lot of racism and prejudice towards latinos and non-whites in Tucson - no 2 ways about it! And I am a professional person with advanced degrees. But people in Tucson only see latino vs. white.
I would advise you to avoid Tucson, if you can. Otherwise try to get a job at the University. At the University you will find some refuge from Tucson, I think. Good luck to you!

Racist and Rude people - black, white or any other color, live everywhere. Tuscon would be no exception to that.
