what is this called and what is it called when you get the awnser to it

2.a+b(c+e)divided by P

1a. looks like the distributive property. 'a' and (c+b) are factors
and you remove the brackets to get ac+ab
2.the expression is a rational expression and you get a quotient when you divide a+b(c+e) by P
is this what you had in mind?
